Bringing creativity to life

In Conversation with the founders of Omorose

The work at Omorose is extremely detailed – we love intricate design. The craftsmanship is of the highest quality and we design and embellish each dress with painstaking finesse.

Q. When did you decide to launch Omorose?

Eman & Mehr: Our first collection came out in 2016, which led to editorials giving us a great start. Over the years, we both really loved designing our clothes for formal occasions and received a lot of appreciation for it. We would passionately discuss new ideas, trends and critique different clothes we would see at different events. Launching our own brand was bound to happen. Our designs started with Omorose fusing art & fashion along with some experimental work. We brought out our own flavor, experience and taste to the bridal fashion world, while keeping beauty, style and grace at the heart of our designs.

 

Q. Why did you decide to hone in on Bridal wear?

Eman: Every girl dreams of being the epitome of grace & beauty on her big day. We are here to make that dream come true. It has led us to create beautiful wedding couture for our brides, and of course the bridal market is a great business.
Mehr: We have built a loyal clientele. The appreciation we have got from the industry has been amazing. Establishing a quality brand so early on, has been such a gratifying experience.

 

Q. Tell us about the kind of work that goes into each collection?

Eman: As an artist, for me it is all about having an eye for detail. It is an entire process, which starts with the selection of the finest quality of fabrics, materials, beads, to the selection of carefully chosen color palettes. Then the design process starts, where our imagination turns into reality.
Mehr: We are extremely hands on with every aspect of design at Omorose. It is a well thought-out and timely process. From the illustration, to fabrics, to flattering silhouettes, color pallets, intricate detailing & finally bringing the vision to life!

 

Q. Talk to us about the business side of things. What are some of the biggest challenges?

Eman: I have been following my eldest brother’s advice ‘Each day in an entrepreneur’s life is a roller-coaster ride — with highs and lows. One day you’re on top of the world and the very next day everything is going wrong. You literally feel like the entire world is conspiring against you. But you cannot give up and have to continue moving forward stronger than ever.’ It is very hard work. Having to deal with the workload during wedding seasons and meeting deadlines can get extremely chaotic. However, at the same time, I really do enjoy the pressure, as it drives me to succeed further.
Mehr: Working on collections every year gets stressful. Dealing with time management, each dress has to be done on time, every detail has to be right. But in the end it is all about coming together as a team. You have to lead everybody through all the difficulties, that is the only way to face everything that comes your way in this business.

 

Q. Is there enough room for everybody in the fashion industry?

Eman: There is certainly room and a market for everybody.
Mehr: We’ve had great experience working with the industry so far. Everyone has been very encouraging, which leads me to believe that there is room for everyone, because they will be supported along the way.

 

Q.Where do you want Omorose to be in the next 10 years?

Eman: We want to make our mark in the international fashion scene and be the leading brand from this part of the world.
Mehr: I will echo my partner Eman. Our long-term dream is to make a significant mark on the international stage.
