Roeland Vos, President EME, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, on his first visit to Pakistan, visited the Sheraton resort projects – Sheraton Hotel and Sheraton Golf & Country Club; which form part of a high-security, gated-access, mixed-use development, Bahria Golf City Islamabad, a soon-to-be-launched project of Bahria Town. Also present at the occasion were Malik Riaz Hussain (Chairman, Bahria Town), Salman Ahmed (VCE, Bahria Town), Gen (R) Shaukat (Executive Director, Bahria Golf City), Guido De Wilde (Sr. Vice President & Regional Director Middle East, Starwood Hotels & Resorts) and Antoine Joignant (Area Manager Pakistan, Starwood Hotels & Resorts).
These projects not only establish a strong presence of Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the region but also mark the formal entrance of Bahria Town in the hospitality industry of Pakistan.
Commenting on the Sheraton properties being developed, Roeland Vos said, “Bahria Golf City Sheraton projects will not only form a benchmark for the hotels in Pakistan but also for all our hotels worldwide. This will also help boost the tourism industry in Pakistan.” He further added, “We are delighted to be working with Bahria Town, an association which we feel should have been formed long ago. We would like to thank them for giving us the opportunity to make a landmark entry with our iconic Sheraton Hotels & Resorts brand into the important city of Islamabad.”
