Obama’s overall ratings at a new low

Obama’s overall ratings declined to a new low, with only 41% of Americans saying they approved of his performance, according to the USA Today/Gallup poll. This is his worst showing since taking office in January 2009.

The poll also showed that the American public support for the Afghan war and US President Barack Obama’s handling of the conflict has hit an all time low after the leak of secret military documents, according to an AFP report.
The percentage of Americans who say the United States made a mistake in sending troops to Afghanistan rose to 43%, compared to 38% before the release of tens of thousands of classified documents on the war. Public confidence in Obama’s war policy has also plunged to 36%, down from 48% in February survey, the poll said.
