PTCL posts broadband revenue surge of 219% in 1st quarter of 2009-10
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has increased its growth by 219% in first quarter of 2009-10 as compared with the same quarter of last financial year. The revenue earned in the broadband sector has posted triple digit growth as it stood at Rs. 830 million in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. This growth has contributed to 5.7% of the company’s overall revenue of July-September 2009.
Convergence of broadband and voice telephony in an integrated tariff, doubling of user bandwidth for DSL users in the same price has increased its subscribers’ growth. It has also launched wireless broadband using 3G technology, unified call rate for all on-net calls with enhanced call duration and introduction of various value added services especially for the corporate segment
